So, why is plastic so bad?

The National Geographic states that The vast 79 percent of the plastic waste is accumulating in landfills or sloughing off in the natural environment as litter.

Meaning at some point, much of it ends up in the oceans, the final sink.
If present trends continue, by 2050, there will be 12 billion metric tons of plastic in landfills.

in addition to that, the World Animal Protection organization says 'Sea animals often eat microplastics because of their small size.
And plastic contains toxic chemicals, which can increase the chance of disease and affect reproduction.

After ingesting microplastics, seals, and other animals, may suffer for months or years before they die.'
